Are You Using The Group Punch Feature For Your Crew?

The Group Punch feature in our TLM module allows managers or supervisors to enter or update time punches for multiple employees at once.  Instead of handling time entry one employee at a time, a supervisor can select a group of employees, apply a clock-in or clock-out rule or assign them to a job or labor category.

All in just a few clicks. It’s simple in concept—but powerful in practice.  For many businesses, especially those with teams working together on the same schedule, this feature changes how the workday begins.  Think about environments like Construction crews, Manufacturing shifts or Landscaping teams.

Instead of employees lining up to clock in individually, a supervisor can quickly ensure everyone is recorded and ready to go.  The result? Less downtime, Faster start to the workday and fewer administrative interruptions.

One of the biggest advantages of Group Punch is its impact on accuracy.  Manual time entry often leads to:

  • Missed punches

  • Duplicate entries

  • Incorrect hours

These small errors can turn into bigger problems during payroll processing.  By allowing supervisors to manage time entry for groups, this helps ensure that:

  • Time is captured consistently

  • Records are more accurate from the start

  • Fewer corrections are needed later

That means payroll runs smoother—and with far fewer surprises. The Group Punch feature may seem small on the surface. However,  in practice, it’s one of those tools that quietly improves the entire payroll process—from the first punch of the day to the final paycheck. In payroll, those small improvements can make a very big difference.
