Why We Support Our Local Chambers of Commerce

They always say that in order to have friends, you have to be a friend first and this is never truer than being an active member of your local Chamber of commerce.  Supporting your local Chamber of Commerce is one of the most strategic investments you can make for your business. The Chamber is more than just a local business network; it’s a hub for growth, advocacy, and community engagement that can provide significant benefits for your business.

At APlus we make it a point of joining the Chamber as soon as we start doing business in an area. It’s our commitment to the community right off that bat. However, we don’t just write a check. We ask how we can be of help and immediately try to get involved as much as possible. Why? Because we believe that a thriving Chamber membership only benefits the community as a whole.

Not a member? Here’s a few reasons why you might want to consider becoming one:

The Role of the Chamber

The Chamber plays a critical role in fostering a vibrant and prosperous business community. It serves as the voice of local businesses, advocating for policies that support economic growth and offering resources to help businesses thrive. From small start-ups to established corporations, the Chamber works tirelessly to create an environment conducive to business success.

Advantages of Membership

Being a Chamber member comes with a wealth of advantages. One of the most prominent is the opportunity to network with other businesses. These networking events can lead to valuable partnerships, provide insights into local business trends, and offer a platform to promote your products or services.

The Chamber also provides educational seminars and training sessions that can enhance your business acumen. These sessions cover a range of topics, from marketing strategies to financial management, equipping you with the knowledge to steer your business towards success.

Community Engagement and Exposure

Membership in a Chamber also offers opportunities for community engagement. By participating in community events and initiatives, businesses can demonstrate their commitment to the local community, enhancing their reputation and increasing their visibility. This can lead to increased customer loyalty and a stronger brand image.

Of course not all Chambers are the same. Look for the ones that have built accreditations and are active both out in the community and online. Just as Mr Rogers used to say “Look for the helpers”, look for those Chamber members that are actively supporting their community, whether by celebrating a new business at a ribbon cutting or connecting new members to old at a networking event. For it’s there you’ll find the true spirit of what makes a Chamber great…people helping people, building a strong community, one member at a time.
